Moonshine Retreats was founded by hospitality and short-term rental industry veterans who have seen property management done at every level — from scrappy side-hustle hosts to large-scale institutional operators. We built this company to bring the best of both worlds together.
We believe guests deserve an experience that is clean, comfortable, and exactly what was promised. Not close — exactly. And we believe property owners deserve a management partner who communicates transparently, executes professionally, and treats their asset like it's our own.
We built our foundation in the Smokies, with every property chosen because it meets our standard. That same standard now guides every home and every destination we serve.

Laura
Co-Founder
Laura brings over 15 years of hospitality and short-term rental operations leadership. She built her career managing large-scale vacation rental portfolios at both the regional and national level before co-founding Moonshine Retreats, to build the owner-first management company she always wished existed.
Austin
Co-Founder
Austin spent four years inside a fast-growing vacation rental company leading financial operations and working directly with property managers across the country. That experience made it clear what great operators look like, and what gets lost when growth takes priority over care.
